There is much more that you can accomplish.
Much more that you can do.
Much more for you to do.
Stop making excuses.
I have this idea of who I would like to be but I have not been executing the responsibilities necessary to get me there. And when I think of the reason why, I can find no real reason. But the Bible says, “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” Proverbs 16:27 According to this scripture, being unproductive can actually be destructive to your life and furthermore, your destiny. Therefore, it is my spiritual obligation to be constantly working on something, working towards something if I want to truly accomplish God’s will in my life. Laziness is not an option!
Remember in the parable of the talents when the one guy did nothing with his talent? He didn’t invest it…he didn’t do anything, and in turn, even what he had was taken away. (Matt 25: 14-30) The danger…of being unproductive.
So what has God given you today? A job? Dreams? Talents? Take some time today to meditate on the resources God has blessed you with; your personality, your education, your network of colleagues etc… and think about what you are doing to maximize, utilize and invest your gifts.
Whatever you invest or sow has to become greater, that’s just how life works. If you are not happy with what you have (like one talent) see what happens when you start working at it. Don’t like your job? Work harder and see if doors won’t open up. You don’t think people will like your artwork? How do you know when you’re not producing?
I’m just saying…anything that grows into something large; a tree, an empire, a business started off much much smaller. Many times as small as a mere idea.
This week I keep hearing the phrase “Take it in stride.” And when I think of this phrase I see track runners passing the baton. The baton signifies the next phase of the race. But you can’t win if you never grab the baton…you can’t win if you drop the baton…you must take the baton (in stride) in order to win.
So whatever you are facing today that is trying to slow you down: take it in stride, run even faster and continue your race.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
