Like Water & Oil

"Am I actually creating my most fulfilling life or am I just waiting for things that will inevitably happen?"

Yes…I know I’ve been a little MIA but let me tell you…my life has been spun up in a whirlwind of blessings. That is really the best way I can describe it, but I miss you guys!

As many of you probably already know…I’M ENGAGED!!! Yes, on 7.17.17 my Anthony proposed to me on bended knee and stole my heart again. Have you ever met someone that makes real life feel like a dream?

Creating your Most Fulfilling Life is the theme, if you will, of my blog. I have decided to focus on lifestyle pieces. Since I started this blog in April, I’ve found that I enjoy writing about my own personal journey; one of self-discovery, development and ultimately chasing my destiny.

As I’ve begun to pay attention to how my life is evolving, I’ve realized something very interesting… as intentional as I would like to be in creating my ideal circumstances, there are always circumstances that occur outside of my control. It is oft times these factors that change the course of my life drastically, like getting a job offer out of nowhere or, in my recent experience, getting engaged!

I didn’t plan my own engagement and yet it has interrupted my life in the most beautiful way, and now my life, in one moment, has become completely different.

BUT…if it is the occurrences that are out of your control that change your life the most, how can you possibly create your most fulfilling life? This is the question I’ve been pondering…

Do the things that I do day-to-day really matter? Am I actually creating my most fulfilling life or am I just waiting for things that will inevitably happen?

God is showing me that there are two parts to creating your most fulfilling life that seemingly do not go together. And what comes to mind is a metaphor of oil and water, these two things do not mix and yet they are both essential to the sustenance of life.

In the same way it is not only what you do externally that contributes to your most fulfilling life (you will not build your life on your own with your hands) but internally as well. Without seeking God too and developing yourself spiritually too…creating your most fulfilling life is impossible and so is finding out your most fulfilling life in the first place.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Cor. 2:9-10

Our most fulfilling life is enveloped in our relationship with God. The closer you get to him, the more your life will begin to unfold.

And even when you are brought to the milestone moments; that huge opportunity that you can’t even believe or that engagement ring that links you to the man of your dreams…you must still lean on God, because there is even more that he has in store for you.

With Love Always,

Tiffany Trawick

Nice metaphor. It works with the idea that we are both flesh and spirit.
